Greetings and Gratitude Beautiful Hummingbird Women,
I would love to participate in the upcoming gathering. Please let me know if this is possible. Blessings to all who are hosting, participating and dreaming this vision awake!!
I am curious as to why there are no finished pictures of the earth home that was being constructed in wounded knee for leola one feather? It seems to have been quite a long time, over 4 years and still it is not being worked on. It is interesting too that the hummingbird women you are promoting are advocating clean water and leola is still without water, knows more about contaminated drinking water than most engineers and is suffering from h.m.t. poisening, i wonder who is helping her? Are you still collecting funding in her name to build, because i do not see that she has received any help and that mismanaged funds and miscommunication seem to be at large for finishing this project…any information would be appreciated or financial disclosures.
~ Johanna *you can view our 990 at the Guidestar site. WE are as ligitimate as is possible and as transparent as we can be. There have been no miscommunications here. After our last trip out with our Architect we determined that we did not have the ability to continue working to meet with Leolas ideas of her needs.
~ Admin: YOU ARE VERY MISINFORMED, my freind. Sorry to hear you believe this. YES, it is true that Leola is very sick. WE did everything in our power to help. The rest is up to her. There have never been undislcosed amounts of money, and Leola received everything possilble and nobody ever raised money in her name. NV does its own fund raising, and in our own name. ALSO see the comments on the reality that we did reactivate her well for her, and met with all of her requests, actually. Unfortunately these requests change frequently and got mixed up with misinformation. Namaste.
We paid for the repair and activation of her well, taping into an aquafer that runs under the entire reservation. All of us drank that water, taking the risk right along with Leola and the rest of the community. No one had any problems from drinking this that I know of, and one summer or two summers of this wont show much anyway…
WE DID help Leola…and we definately never raised money that was not used specifically for her and her house in anyones name but our own…Leola may you heal deeply and undertand how well loved you really are.
The pictures are at the end of our welcome page. Leolas house is described and shown to be a learning curve project. Discovering how to support folks who as you know have thinking disorders and mobility issues due to the violence of oppressive and restrictive reservation lifestyles can be a challenge even when the whole community invites you to come support, this is not always what happens. Leola received vehicles, groceries, much much much in the way of support and building materials, and even tho we explained and supported and kept coming back to redo what was undone in our absence, WE ALWAYS will love Leola and continue to work on finding people willing to finish her house.
Volunteers do not have endless bank accounts and years set aside to help folks with various serious disorders of all kinds. Even Tho I wish it could be this way. Leolas project caused us to realize we HAD to found not only a non profit, but a whole delivery system if we are going to do anything at all to help her WHOLE community (and not JUST Leola!!!)
Im weeping
Again, oh silliness of thee
So open my heart
The weeping of glee
Once thrown from the cage
And freedom broke me
This seeping container
Is putty for thee.
