Masanobu Fukuoka’s Natural Farming and Permaculture
By terry
18/03/2012 2:24 pmDear Mr Korn,
I disagree with your closing comment and the underlying premise of your article: “Permaculture relies on the human intellect to devise a strategy to live abundantly and sustainably within nature. Fukuoka sees the human intellect as the culprit serving only to separate people from nature. The “one mountain top, many paths” adage seems to apply here.I believe that followers of Natural Farming would doubt integrity of human intellect given modern people’s history of environmental degradation. I place great store in Fukuoka’s advice to not force, control or otherwise coerce nature. there are many Permaculture Designers on this planet, not all will reach that mountain, the basic tenets of Permaculture allow this. Its not same same.
thanks, terry

Building Sustainability Camps
By Angela
29/03/2011 10:29 amHello! This is the first time I have visited this website and I must say I am loving it! I have been toying with the idea of starting an organization that practices and teaches all aspects of sustainability and I stumbled upon this website while searching Google. I am moved, really.. goosebumps! Its SO exciting to be a part of such a world wide family of earth conscious, spiritually driven friends and neighbors! I only pray that I may be a part of the movement to help reduce and erase our footprint and leave a legacy for the youth of out future. God’s will.

Lakota Voice: a message from the children
By Lies Bot_Pater
08/05/2010 5:10 amHi there,
I am Lies Bot from the Netherlands, I visit the U.S.A a couple of times. I have been to Rocky Boy Reservation to visit a friend and to a meeting in Sedona called the Four Wisdom Gathering. There where a few elders and a lot of “seekers”. I was really amazed that so many people believed that just praying was enough to make things better for the native american people.
Russell Means was there too. I like his approach.
Ofcourse it is most important that the native american culture should be teached to all native American children. But I also understand that with a empty stomach and a polluted body, it is a hard thing to do. I also understand that there is an defensive attitude, because the white people first took your land, your food, your children and your culture. On top of that several people explore your spiritual inheritance. Like “become” a shaman in one weekend” I am not bitter, my heart is with you all. I try to walk my path and maybe we meet eachother in future. -
Lakota Voice: a message from the children

15/02/2010 10:22 amHey,
When are you guys going to finish the house at Wounded Knee ? It’s been 3 years at least. Every time I go visit, it still looks the same. The winter up there is very bad this year and they have no heat. The kids are really having a hard time. Luckily, Leola has been getting better, you know she had metal poisoning from mercury, aluminum, and cadmium from the water.
Are you still raising money for that project? The whole reservation is waiting to see it finished; it could be a solution to alot of problems there.ADMIN: Another Cob house is going up in Manderson at the Weasles place. Shannon was a former volunteer and she is bringing House Alive! out to do projects and workshops to finish the Weasles house as another example. We stopped working to finish Leolas house after they deconstructed it when NV teams were offsite and the house finishing team failed to complete the roof. Perhaps someone will approach House Alive! to finish at Leolas. After our Architect tried working with her and designing an eagle house with her, Leolas need for steel girders as a roof structure stopped making sense to us and we gave up, literally.

12/10/2009 11:58 amHummingbird in flight above my burning heart
I still feel the heat your nearness brings
The tears you spilt to ease my heart when parting
I wept to wash the fire from your wingsI am in tears right now I must confess
Though numb from years of trying to disguise
A child’s heart within a muscled chest
And keep his fears well masked behind dry eyesI fear the dying of the Earth’s begun
Though in Her mind its just the winter’s come
Perhaps
In which the loss of children’s lives
Is one more storm within near endless skiesI do not believe the sky will fall
Though I know not of our Creator’s fears
It may well be He’ll need the stars and all
To mask the falling of His tearsSo let us love my love while love we might
For we may be the tears the spirits weep
That burn as hearts on fire through the night
Then fall as stars when at last we sleepby Kevin Parcel
http://www.sunmoney.orgSING TO LOVE
I sing to love remembering sacred truth
to know our hearts as burning wombs of youthto burst in light the knowing ever more
that transformation keeps our conscious sporesthe mushrooms, fruits the flowers, life and birds
all creatures of this yearning female birth
she lies in wait as sun does always shine
and dries her tears when winters cold has stungto see the sparrow frozen on the branch
or children, flies amass amid the stench
we humans know we know the way of truth
and yet allow our women’s suffering youtha youth of culture america, melting down
until the earth heart warriors pound us round
until the mass of heart is mush and worn
before us as our hearts from chests are tornwe never knew the gold would turn to dust
until our children got this in their guts
that culture, mainstream pathways let us down
when looking to shelter our children from the grounds
of corporate eyes that look the other way
when america begins to fade awaythe truth be told, and never do we part
to know the ways of every human heartwe wish to grow with her, our mother earth
protecting, cherishing knowing
of her mirth
and wisdom giveing homes and shelter new
‘for every one who wishes to be truenever has she ever let us down
from shelter, food to cultures healthy shrouds
of mourning that which dust has always claimed
and nature as our mother never shamedto live with her, and share the bounties fruit
to never need the mainstream neighborhoods
to know your village people from the heart
and never in our lives let that love partwild, the heart of nature always lives
in humble landscapes harboring her kids
all the creatures plants and humans, ALL
living lives of loving natures callthis worship leads to peace and human needs
being shown the kind way through this all a mazewe know today that good thoughts take us home
to the land where always nature roams
as healthy, vibrant worshiped by our love
so every human being knows this dovePEACE the only way to humble truth
and truth the only door to teach our youth
so now allow the presence of this day
to shelter/show and lead us on our way…
